Happy New Year! Sorry, I have not written in a while, but unlike most high school kids in the country right now, I’ve been catching up on homework. Things have calmed down a bit with my family since last week, but we never actually discussed anything of substance to sort things out. All of the New Years Eve festivities got in the way. We traveled to South Bend located at the north part of Indiana and not far at all from Chicago. I was hoping George would change his mind and head back there for a couple days, but we stayed and checked things out in South Bend until we were ready to go Michigan. Keep going...

We got up early in the morning so we could say our goodbyes and get driving. The two children didn’t bother to wake up, so I guess the manners thing went out the window as well for Hoosiers. I didn’t say a word when leaving except for a very light “thank you.” I tried to give them the indication that I wanted to leave quickly by walking away slightly after every word he said, but he picked up on nothing. So, leaving Illinois and “Sweet Home Chicago” began the start of our sour trip east. Since Dad has been adamant about traveling to every single state he said we HAD to go to the sorry state of Indiana. Glenda seemed to be way too excited about going to this excuse for a midwest state. Keep going...
